Backflow Testing in St. Cloud
Certified Backflow Testing from a Team St. Cloud Has Trusted Since 1947
For many St. Cloud properties, backflow testing isn’t optional. It’s a Minnesota Plumbing Code requirement, and the responsibility to schedule it falls on the property owner. At Neighborhood Home Services, our licensed plumbers have been serving Central Minnesota since 1947, and certified backflow prevention testing is part of the full plumbing service we bring to every job.
We handle the test, document the results, and submit the report to BSI Online on your behalf. If something needs repair, the same team that ran the test can fix it. No handoffs, no second contractors, no surprises on the bill.
Ready to schedule backflow testing in St. Cloud? Call us at (320) 500-6073 or book online. We offer upfront pricing, financing options, and 24/7 availability for emergencies.
Why St. Cloud Requires Annual Backflow Testing
The Minnesota Plumbing Code requires all testable backflow prevention assemblies to be tested at the time of installation and at least once every year after that. The City of St. Cloud goes a step further, requiring RPZ valve test reports to be submitted electronically through BSI Online.
Properties most commonly subject to this requirement include those with lawn irrigation systems, boilers, fire sprinkler systems, and certain commercial plumbing connections. If any of those apply to your property, you’re responsible for arranging the test and submitting the report on time. Missed deadlines can result in fines or, in some cases, water service interruption.
What Qualifies a Backflow Tester in Minnesota
Not every licensed plumber can legally perform backflow testing in Minnesota. The state requires testers to hold ASSE 5110 certification and be registered with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) as a Backflow Prevention Tester. That certification covers all testable assemblies, including RPZ valves. After a completed test, the tester is required to tag the device with the testing date, their signature, and their certification number: documentation that matters for your compliance record.
